I got my mail today and sat down to open and read all thee things I had received. Inside was a letter explaining I would be receiving the census survey soon and to please fill it out and send it back. What's so important about this I hear all the time! Well the government uses the data they receive from the census forms to disperse money to state and local agencies. It directly impacts public transportation, campus safety, scholarship programs, and much more!
Census information affects the numbers of seats your state occupies in the U.S. House of Representatives. And people from many walks of life use census data to advocate for causes, rescue disaster victims, prevent diseases, research markets, locate pools of skilled workers and more.
When you do the math, it's easy to see what an accurate count of residents can do for your community. Better infrastructure. More services. A brighter tomorrow for everyone. In fact, the information the census collects helps to determine how more than $400 billion dollars of federal funding each year is spent on infrastructure and services like:
Hospitals
Job training centers
Schools
Senior centers
Bridges, tunnels and other-public works projects
Emergency services
Participation isn't just important—it's mandatory. (taken from the official census site)
We're asking all of America to "Take 10 Minutes" to complete and mail back their 2010 Census Forms. Here's how we did in 2000 -- Let's do even better in 2010!
In this economy and this day and age we need all the help our communities can get! I urge everyone to take a few minutes and fill out the census survey when you get it in the mail. It really does make a difference and thats what we are looking for right?!

Here is a copy and paste from a friend on one of my mommy boards. I laughed so hard this morning and had to share with you!
I was out walking with my 4-year-old daughter. She picked up something off of the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that.
'Why?' my daughter asked.
'Because it's been on the ground; you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, And probably has germs,' I replied.
At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, 'Mama, how do you know all this stuff? You are so smart.'
I was thinking quickly and replied, 'All moms know this stuff... It's on the Mama Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mama.'
We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information.
'Oh.....I get it!' she beamed, 'So if you don't pass the test you have to be the dad.'
'Exactly,' I replied with a big smile on my face.
What are the cutest, funniest things your kids say? My 3 year old gets home from school and the first thing he ALWAYS asks me is 'How was my baby today? HOpe it was not a hard day." Mind you he is talking about his 7 month old brother lol!
Okay I recently moved with my Mother in law into a tiny apartment in town. I did this to help her financially and because although I am not poor I am not well off either. The thing is my husband works in Nashville and we just can not afford a place there. Now next year when we pay off his truck loan (that he got before he meet me) then we will be sitting pretty.
SO anyways here it is 11pm and everyone in the house is asleep; my mother in law, my 3 year old, and my 7 month old(this one is a shocker). So what am I doing sleeping? UMMM no I am up blogging this weeks blogs since the people below us are banging, yelling, stomping, etc.
Now let me get this straight for you.... I am on the upper floor! I have lived in alot of apartments in my time; especially in my first marriage. But never and I mean never have I heard the people BELOW me. This is not just a tonight thing, this is an every night till 1 or 2 am thing. I have bought a sound machine for my room, I play music in my sons room, and yet they still manage to keep me up.
The saddest part.... they have a 4 year old that is still up; running, screaming, and raising kane....
I am sorry I have had to change to moderated comments. As this blog grows I have started seeing spam and links I do NOT want posted on here. I vow this blog will always remain family friendly and so I have been forced to review all comments before they go live.
Up side is you do NOT have to put in the annoying verification code any longer!
Living in south Arizona for over 15 years made me miss the snow and winter so much! I can now say I am officially burnt out on snow and cold weather. Aaron has been out of school for more then he has been in it the last two months. I mean I live in Tennessee now so if the weather even thinks about snow they cancel but still. So here I am freezing, stuck at home when I have things I can do, trying to catch up online, and entertain 2 kids. Now to make matters worse Aaron loves school and when he does not get to go he is a royal pain in the you know what! If only he will keep that love for school. *sighs thinking of teenage years*
So this is what it has been like the past month.... Pretty I know. Now if you live in a nice warm place I will gladly trade lives lol!
So I have a favor to all of my readers. If you happen to see Mr. Spring can you send him my way!
I am sorry I have not posted much the past week or so. I had to have surgery last Monday. I am doing better but during this week I also moved into a new apartment. Due to this I have had hetic long days. I am sorry and hope to be getting back on track with the savings!
Note a few changes:
I will be adding to Monday's giveaway post several times this week. So please keep checking back!
I wanted to let you all know a few things that are going on right now in my life and what it will mean in the coming days for my blog. First I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting me in this blog. I hope to continue to grow and change every time I post. I welcome each and every one of you to email or comment on each post about anything you think about my blog. Good or bad I read each and every comment. I also encourage you to share your ideas with me on anything you would like to see on this blog. I am looking for posting ideas for Friday and then Saturday/Sunday combined.
Monday I have to have surgery. I went to the surgeon last week about a spot on the back of my head.
He said I have a cyst/tumor/mass and it is very deep. I have had it for some time but it is now getting bigger and painful. I have been suffering from migraines and they are getting worse. My eye sight is now messing up as well. Needless to say I am having it removed and biopsied Monday. He is not sure what it is but does feel some nerves are being messed with by it for the very least. I am putting everything in God's hands and staying as strong and steadfast as possible.
For this reason Monday's Giveaways will be a pre written post on Sunday and will come out on Monday. For that reason the Golden Moon Tea giveaway will have some extra time added to it. I will pick a winner Tuesday or Wednesday. I am sorry that the posts will not be frequent over the first of the week. My husband took Monday off to help me and my Mother in Law took Tuesday off to watch the kids. Wednesday I am back on my own; so I have to rest until then.
I will also be in the process of moving over the next few weeks. So please forgive me. I promise to bring you as much as possible even with all this craziness. When we make it through it I promise some new changes to the blog. For one will be a blog makeover. I am contacting someone tonight or tomorrow to help make this possible. I promise a more defined and clean layout will be forthcoming!
Again thank you for everything. Please continue to let people know about this blog. The more people I get coming and reading my posts the better content I can bring you. As always "It's all about the Savings"
One more thing..... April 1st - 17th will be 'It's all about Mom' week. I will be featuring reviews and giveaways centered around Mother's day. Yes it is early but this will give you plenty of time to prepare. If you would like to be featured during this week please email me at your convenience. I am looking for sponsers for reviews, giveaways, and possibly guest writers!
